Evanston Wind Farm Update, Q&A Tonight

Tonight, Thursday, July 15, Citizens for a Greener Evanston will present an update on the wind farm proposed for Lake Michigan offshore of Evanston, along with some key highlights of Evanston’s Climate Action Plan. Residents will have an opportunity to see a slide presentation and ask questions about this dynamic concept, which could generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 40,000 homes.

The wind farm proposal, which would be the first offshore project in Illinois, has generated great interest since the Evanston City Council voted to issue a Request for Information ("RFI") asking developers to come forward with propsals. The session tonight, part of CGE's ‘Green Topics’ Lecture Series, will address benefits, costs, and environmental concerns. Time and place: Thur., July 15, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Firehouse Grill, 750 Chicago Ave. Cash Bar + Dinner service available.
