Newsletter from the Golf Association Now Available Online

The Evanston Wilmette Community Golf Course Association newsletter is now available online at www.ewcgolf.org.

The newsletter provides the community with an overview of activities and the status of the course, which is in the midst of reorgnaization and rebuilding.

In his remarks, Perry Weinberg, president of the golf association board of directors, stated in part, "There is a buzz around the golf course, and we are pleased to report that it is a new day for golf in our community! We are proud of our progress to rebuild YOUR golf course and we intend to preserve and protect it. You can see the improvements on the course and you can feel the enthusiasm of our dedicated staff, our volunteers and - most importantly - our golfers.   I cannot begin to personally thank every person who has contributed to make this possible. The dedication of each and every member of our Board is amazing."

Canal Shores, as it is fondly known in the area, is a non profit course, managed by a volunteer board.

The newsletter introduces the golf staff and provides an update on course improvements and activities.  The course will be hosting the Tour of Duty in August and is home for numerous leagues, youth golf programs and family golf .  Plans are now underway for an end of summer fundraiser, "groovin' on the greens," that is intended to raise funds that are essential to the preservation of this gem in our midst.
