Add CSNA News to Your Browser Menu

Stay on top of the latest from CSNA. Add a news feed menu item to your browser and get the latest headlines as they are posted. When you click on the new icon you will see the titles of the most recently posted news items. Clicking on an item will take you to the full story. Instructions are here below for two popular browser programs:

For Firefox Version 2:

Click on the "News" menu item the CSNA menu. At the bottom of the News page, below the content, area is an orange and white button. Click on the button to go to the 'Add Live Bookmark' menu. In that menu the 'Name' item is pre-filled with
'Central Street Neighbors - "Together we have a stronger voice".'.

You can shorten that to 'CSNA' without the quotes.

In the 'Create in' item select 'Bookmarks Toolbar Folder'. If it is not pre-selected, use the selectors the the right of the folder name to find and select 'Bookmarks Toolbar Folder'. When that is selected click 'OK'. The orange and white icon for CSNA should now appear below the main and Navigation menus at the top of the Firefox window. If not, select the 'View' menu item in Firefox and then the 'Toolbars' choice. If the 'Bookmarks Toolbar' item is unchecked click on it once to check it and it should now display the CSNA news icon.

When you click on the CSNA icon you will see a list of the most recent titles that you can select to go directly to the item.

For Internet Explorer Version 7:

You must be using Internet Explorer Version 7. Earlier versions do not support news feeds.

Click on the "News" menu item the CSNA menu. At the bottom of the News page, below the content, area is an orange and white button. Click on the button to go to the news feeds page. On that page at the top is a light yellow pane with a button titled ‘Subscribe to this feed’. Click on the button. You will get a small Internet Explorer ‘Subscribe to this feed’ window. In that window the 'Name' item is pre-filled with
'Central Street Neighbors - "Together we have a stronger voice".'. You can shorten that to 'CSNA' without the quotes.

In the 'Create in' item select ‘Feeds’ . It should be pre-selected. When that is selected click 'Subscribe'. You should return to the feeds page and a message at the top should say ‘You’ve successfully subscribed to this feed’. On the right a new menu item ‘View feed properties' will appear. You can use that to set the advanced options for your feed. These include the update schedule for how often your browser will look for new items, the option to automatically download files attached to new items and the number of most recent items Internet Explorer will archive or display.

You can now hit the ‘Back’ button in your browser to go back to the CSNA News page.

Using Feeds in Internet Explorer: In the Internet Explorer Command bar there is an orange star labeled ‘Favorites Center’. Click on the star. In the next menu click on ‘Feeds’. In the ‘Feeds’ list click on CSNA and you will see the current CSNA news items in the current web page. Click on an item headline to go to the CSNA website and read the full post.
