If you missed the live version, click below to see about a minute of the short but intense hailstorm in Evanston on June 28, 2008, making a racket on roofs and gutters and decks. Marble-size to mothball-sized hail. Not the biggest hailstones but there was a lot of them. A surprising amount of bouncing.

The biggest and best old-fashioned small-town parade in the midwest is the Evanston 4th of July parade, which officially kicks off on the 4th.
Last year, accompanied by the band "Soap" on our Big Green Truck, those of the Central Street Neighbors Association not committed to other groups (we all wear multiple hats!) had a great time marching and received a ton of wonderful feedback from bystanders.
