The second installment of the Wild & Scenic Film Fest is coming to the Evanston Ecology Center tomorrow night (Friday, May 11) from 7pm to 9pm. The theme of the evening's films will be "Environmental Threats and Solutions". These hand-picked short films tell the stories of individuals or groups who were faced with an environmetal problem and took determined action to address it.
Last month's Wild & Scenic event was very well received by the "full house" that attended. There will be a raffle tomorrow night of sponsor prizes at intermission.

In the past few weeks there have been several car burglaries in the 6th Ward. Most of the cars were unlocked and contained items of value -- a camera and photo equipment, wireless headset and designer sunglasses. According to Officer Loyce Spells of the Evanston Police Department if you remove all items of value and lock your vehicles during the early evening/overnight hours, you have a low probability of being burglarized.
