Central St Cafe Says, "Yes, We're Open"

Long-awaited Central St Café opened for business on Friday, August 26, at 2800 Central St.  Owner Mitch Dulin, who has operated successful French and Italian restaurants in Lincoln Park and downtown Chicago, found himself with most tables pleasantly filled for most of his maiden evening--just hours after posting "Yes, We're Open" signs in the windows.

A simple but delicious opening-night menu featured tasty and innovative appetizers, full plate salads, and meat, seafood and vegetarian entrees, along with sandwiches and desserts.  An intriguing selection of wines features small but sophisticated vineyard treasures from California at competitive retail prices.  For an $8 corkage fee,  you can enjoy your chosen bottle of wine at the table with your meal.  Wines by-the-glass and a variety of craft beers are also available.  A retail section also offers cheeses and specialty food items to complement wines and craft beers to go.

Dulin says that he's signed a long-term lease for the former video store retail space.  He plans to make Central St Cafe a longtime, taste-tantalizing resource in the Central Street community.
