Community members are invited to help with the annual garlic mustard weed pull at Cook County's smallest forest preserve, Dwight Perkins Woods (just west of Lincolnwood School, southeast of Ewing and Colfax) this weekend, May 2nd and 3rd. Garlic mustard is a wildly proliferating invasive plant from Europe that chokes out native plants.The most effective way of combatting it is to pull it out, by hand.
 
Show up either today (Saturday) or tomorrow, from 9:30 to noon, in appropriate work clothes. Volunteers will also be cleaning up some of the trash that blows in each winter.
